A mail bag combining orange-dyed Raggrinzato horse butt leather with 1950s vintage linen, then piece-dyed in black after construction. The black dye settles differently into the leather and linen, creating depth and subtle tonal variation across the two contrasting materials.
The broad flap and horizontal silhouette highlight the substantial character of the horse butt leather and the distinctive texture of the vintage linen. The different surfaces remain clearly visible beneath the black finish, giving the bag a rich and individual expression. The long strap allows it to be carried over the shoulder or across the body.

Materials & Craftsmanship
This bag combines vegetable-tanned Raggrinzato horse butt leather with 1950s vintage linen.
Horse butt is taken from the dense fibrous area of the horse’s hindquarters and is characterized by its firmness, durability, and substantial thickness. In the Raggrinzato finish, the leather’s natural wrinkles and grain are emphasized, creating a richly textured surface with pronounced depth and character.
For this model, the horse butt leather is first dyed orange and combined with vintage linen before the completed bag undergoes the black piece-dyeing process. Because the two materials absorb the dye differently, subtle variations in tone and surface appear throughout the bag.
The vintage linen has a dry texture and natural irregularity developed over many years. Because of its age and original character, differences in tone, weave, and surface may vary from piece to piece.
After dyeing, the bag is left to dry naturally over an extended period and finished by hand to bring out the texture and individual character of both materials.
All finishing processes are carried out in-house and by hand.
