HORSE BUTT RG WHITE LEATHER SNEAKER SS-1H HIGH CUT WHITE HIGH RUBBER SOLES PIECE DYED
A high-cut sneaker combining white-tanned Raggrinzato horse leather with grey horse butt leather across the upper.
The main body uses white-tanned Raggrinzato horse leather, while the section covering the instep is made from substantial horse butt leather. After construction, the entire sneaker is piece-dyed in light grey. Because the two leathers respond differently to the dye, a natural two-tone expression emerges, giving greater depth and definition to the layered construction.
The dense, substantial horse butt leather adds weight and presence to the upper, creating a strong contrast with the textured Raggrinzato leather. The shoelaces are piece-dyed together with the sneakers, allowing their tone to integrate naturally with the overall finish.
Materials & Craftsmanship
This footwear combines vegetable-tanned Raggrinzato horse leather with vegetable-tanned Raggrinzato horse butt leather.
Raggrinzato leather is characterized by naturally pronounced wrinkles, grain, and surface variation. Through the tanning and piece-dyeing processes, these characteristics become further emphasized, creating a richly textured surface with distinctive depth.
Horse butt is taken from the dense fibrous area of the horse’s hindquarters and is valued for its firmness, durability, and substantial character. Its greater density gives the instep section a particularly strong presence.
After the shoes have been constructed, the entire pair undergoes the piece-dyeing process and is then left to dry naturally over an extended period. Because the two types of leather absorb and respond to the dye differently, subtle variations in tone appear between the sections, giving each pair its own two-tone expression.
During drying, each pair is carefully reshaped and adjusted by hand to restore the intended proportions and fit.
Once completely dry, the leather is finished by hand to enhance its texture, depth, and individual character.
All finishing processes are carried out in-house and by hand.
